INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING

What is Individual Counseling?


Individual counseling is a process where a trained counselor helps to a person to address their current problems and prepares them to handle future challenges. 


Counseling is personalized for each individual because everyone has unique issues and goals.


Goals of Individual Counseling


Counseling goals can be divided into three types:

1. Immediate Goals:

  • Focus on solving the person's current problems.
  • Help the person understand themselves better, including their strengths and weaknesses.


2. Long-term Goals:

  • Help the person grow and reach their full potential.
  • Encourage self-awareness, personal development, and positive mental health.
  • Process Goals:
  • Focus on building a good relationship between the counselor and the client.
  • Include essential qualities like empathy, understanding, and friendliness, which help the person open up and explore their thoughts and feelings.


 How Counseling Works: 


The counseling process involves:

  1. Creating a supportive and understanding environment.
  2. Encouraging self-exploration to help individuals understand themselves better.
  3. Taking small steps (mediate goals) that lead to long-term success, such as positive mental health, self-awareness, and personal growth 

Ultimately, individual counseling is about helping people become the best version of themselves, overcome challenges, and lead fulfilling lives.
